Treacherous is the tree left without light
until the coming of the golden day
lest all paths return the plight
nearly escaping dismay

Branches held in cold embrace
caressed by idle wind
severed one by one
grounded are brittle remains

Sustenance scattered by the changing patterns,
sporadic if any are the rains
perched on a precipice
withered and desperate
the trees become filled with disdain

With the sun to their backs
they fight ever on
heaping repeating
collecting their plunder
at the forefront of rebellion
as a new day dawns
marching towards the masterpiece of limbs torn asunder

The factions now united
will bring the system down
once knowledge is exploited
and the weakness found

Falling into the unknown
enshrined by ancient forces
contained at last
devoured demon horses
reflected in puddles of sacred blood
omens depict the death of the sun
thought torn away from vision
reality’s mask unveiled
echoing every incision

As the moon is eclipsed
chaos is wrought
purpose is founded
counselors bought
treason acknowledged
accepted in darkness
but moon light returns
makes true the promise

Resentful of many
fevered in panic
reaching the crest
no longer ecstatic
confronted at once
payment for suffrage
all flesh consumed
remains now in bondage
